He came from a town in the state of Illinois
He stabbed a guy to death when he was just a little boy
Wasn't known yet that this would turn into a spree
But what a better night than the night of Halloween
Up the stairs he goes, his sisters turn is next
He put the knife right in her now the blood pours out her neck
Mommy can't believe what her baby boy has done
She asked him why he did it and he said just for fun
16 years locked up in a sanitarium he escapes from his cell and now he's on the run
On his path he kills everyone who comes his way
He hunts his living sister like a lion hunts his prey
Her friends will die quiet, lovers lay in blood
Preceding on his tear his little Laurie's life is culled
A night of tricks and treats, children dressed as clowns
A night no one's safe because they're all lined up for a slaughterhouse
The children are lined up for a slaughterhouse
The only one to save us is a doctor with a gun
He'll have to kill the boy who he's treated as a son
Police on alert to find the boogey man
But more and more turn up dead at the hands of Son of Sam
With stabs to his heart and stabs to his eye
A gunshot to his chest, to which he finally dies
A night of tricks and treats, children dressed as clowns
A night no one's safe because they're all lined up for a slaughterhouse
The children are lined up for a slaughterhouse
The children are lined up for a slaughterhouse
The children are lined up for a slaughterhouse
The children are lined up for a slaughterhouse
I bought the 12 inch single for Bela Lugosi’s Dead at Fred’s records in St. John’s, Newfoundland in the eighties and it remained a treasured item in my collection until it was lost, left behind, stolen, loaned out, whatever. I accepted that that item was lost to time and likely irreplaceable. Hence my utter shock to see that I will once again hear this evocative masterwork on vinyl along with an extra three tracks. I recall Boys was included on the B-side of that long list single. Thank you! skritti
